Location The Church of San Sebastian is located at the old Tanners’ quarter, close to the Islamic Tenerías (Tannery) baths, which are included, as the Church itself, in the Hidden Heritage guided tours of Toledo. Ver mapa más grande Description The building has been continuously occupied from the 10th to 20th centuries. Archeological research shows that it was originally built as a mosque; then it became a Christian temple. Rooms and capacities
Technical information The comprehensive rehabilitation made by the Consorcio of Toledo has tried to respect materials, finishes, colours and textures, seeking their peaceful combination with the new materials in use. Restoration has prevailed over substitution. The church is around 150 metres long. It has three naves, with a fourth one on the east side, as well as a small sacristy. Electrical equipment and air conditioning are included. The space is usually open, but pews are available. This ancient mosque is an ideal venue for small receptions, cocktails, seminars, concerts, shows, private or dramatized visits. Further details Webpage language: spanish |
